Lucania Ties First Game in PEI-CJOB

Manitoba Teams in National Soccer Tourneys Four National Minor Soccer championships got underway today... and Manitoba teams are off to a rocky start.The Senior Men's and Senior Womens' Championships are in Charlottetown.The best result of the day for Manitoba saw Lucania battle the host Prince Edward Island to a scoreless tie at the Challenge Cup Tournament.In the Jubilee Senior Womens' Championship, Team United was smoked 7-0 by Quebec in their opening game.In Etobicoke, Ontario at the under-14 boy's championship, the Northwest Knights and Alberta tied 2-allAnd the Winnipeg Flames were shutout 3-0 by Alberta at the under- 14 girls' tournament.In Granby Quebec, the host Quebec team crushed the Winnipeg Flames 5-0 in the opening game of the girls under 16 championship.The Phoenix Fury boys don't play until tomorrow.And in Edmonton, Quebec blanked the Northwest Hurricanes 3-0 in the girls under 18 tournament.
