Sokol will have to settle for bronze.
Sokol lost 1-0 to Alberta on a golden goal in the second overtime in the Challenge Cup semifinals yesterday in Quebec City. The Manitoba club champions were hoping to become the second Manitoba team in a row to win the national senior men's soccer championship and third in the last four years.
Instead, they will face B.C. today in the bronze medal final. B.C. lost 2-1 to host Quebec.
Meanwhile, Manitoba's Sweat Shack lost 3-0 to B.C. in Jubilee Trophy women's action, also in Quebec City. The Manitoba representatives will play New Brunswick for seventh place this morning.
